Following the Industry-Academy-Student Meetings, our renewed classrooms and faculty library were visited. These renovated classrooms were put into service with a ceremony within the presence of our sponsors.

With its renewed design, Hamdi Bozbağ Library was also officially put into service. Plaques of appreciation were presented by our dean Mr. Mustafa Kumral to the family of the late Hamdi Bozbağ and to the research assistants and engineers who contributed to the renovation.

In its modern form, the library will continue to serve students in a more efficient and welcoming environment.

The Faculty of Mines was established in 1953 in Istanbul. At its first years, the faculty composed of mainly Turkish and German professors, and its program was similar to those days’ famous mining schools such as Aachen, Clausthal and Freiberg.

Today, the Faculty of Mines with five departments (Mining, Geological, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Geophysical, and Mineral Processing Engineering) and 13 sub-divisions is graduating young and proficient engineers to search, develop and produce underground sources of Turkey.
