In 2023 particularly our early career researchers from the Departments of Mining, Geological, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Geophysical, and Mineral Processing Engineering introduced findings from their completed/ongoing works within weekly organized online faculty seminars.

In 2023 particularly our early career researchers from the Departments of Mining, Geological, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Geophysical, and Mineral Processing  Engineering introduced findings from their completed/ongoing works within weekly organized faculty seminars.

Face-to-face seminars were held from January to December 2023 at Ihsan Ketin Conference Hall. Seminars were open to all students and faculty members of the ITU creating an opportunity that deepened and enriched discussions environment among experts from different disciplines of earth sciences.

The Faculty of Mines was established in 1953 in Istanbul. At its first years, the faculty composed of mainly Turkish and German professors, and its program was similar to those days’ famous mining schools such as Aachen, Clausthal and Freiberg.

Today, the Faculty of Mines with five departments (Mining, Geological, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Geophysical, and Mineral Processing Engineering) and 13 sub-divisions is graduating young and proficient engineers to search, develop and produce underground sources of Turkey.
