This year the ITU Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering department hosted the 31st ITU Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Seminar and Exhibition. The event was held through the dates of June 30 – July 1, 2022 in the Faculty of Mines at Istanbul Technical University. The event started off with the opening session where we had the privilege of hosting the president of GazBir, Mr. Yaşar Arslan, the president of the Chamber of Petroleum Engineers, Mr. Yüksel Kurt and president and CEO of Turkish Petroleum, Mr. Melih Han Bilgin.

The opening sessions were followed by the presentation of the commemorative plaques to our alumni who had started their freshman year in 1993. The rest of the two day event was composed of technical presentations where some of the most important officials of the industry took part. The two day event ended with a boat trip on the Bosphorus and dinner where the graduates of spring 2022 were honored.
Overall, the 31st ITU Petroleum and Natural Seminar and Exhibition has been a fruitful event where the current developments in upstream, midstream and downstream activities in oil, natural gas, and geothermal energy in Türkiye and the world have been discussed. The event has attracted many participants both national and international. It is important to note that no other event in the Petroleum and Natural Gas industry of Türkiye has been going on for 31 years.
