Our Department of Mineral Processing Engineering actively participated at organizing The 17th International Mineral Processing Symposium.

The 17th International Mineral Processing Symposium was held under the auspices of Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye on December 15-17, 2022 in cooperation with ITU Mineral Processing Engineering Department, Turkish Mining Development Foundation and TÜYAP, at the TÜYAP Palace Hotel, simultaneously with the Mining Türkiye 2022 Fair. In the symposium, which was held with more than 400 participants, nearly 100 academic studies were presented orally and around 30 posters were presented.

İTÜ Faculty of Mines

The Faculty of Mines was established in 1953 in Istanbul. At its first years, the faculty composed of mainly Turkish and German professors, and its program was similar to those days’ famous mining schools such as Aachen, Clausthal and Freiberg.

Today, the Faculty of Mines with five departments (Mining, Geological, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Geophysical, and Mineral Processing Engineering) and 13 sub-divisions is graduating young and proficient engineers to search, develop and produce underground sources of Turkey.
