ITU, with 66 academicians in the "career-long impact" category and 60 academicians in the "annual impact" category, was ranked first among all other Turkish universities in this list. In the list of the world's most influential scientists, there were 5 academicians in the top 100, 20 in the top 500, and 35 in the top 1000 according to the field ranking from ITU.

Our scientists Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sabri Çelik, Prof. Dr. Feridun Boylu, Prof. Dr. Gülay Bulut, Prof. Dr. Gündüz Ateşok, Prof. Dr. Aral Okay, Prof. Dr. Yücel Yılmaz, Prof. Dr. Celâl Şengör, Prof. Dr. Aykut Barka, Prof. Dr. Hans Jensen Thybo, Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kuzu, Prof. Dr. Ataç Başçetin, Prof. Dr. Türker Hüdaverdi, Doç. Dr. Tolga Görüm related to the ITU Faculty of Mines  in the field of Mineral Processing, Geology, and Mining Engineering were included in the "annual impact and career-long impact" category in the list of the world's most influential scientists, which is held annually by Elsevier and Stanford University.
