Book Launch and Symposium Titled “Lithium-Ion Batteries in Electric Vehicles”

Members of Mineral Processing Engineering Department participated in a book launch and symposium titled “Lithium Ion Batteries in Electric Vehicles” that was organized by Automotive Technologies Platform (OTEP).

The chapters “Mineral reserve and enrichment methods” written by Prof. Dr. Murat Olgaç Kangal and our research assistants Zeynep Üçerler, Tülay Türk and Oğuzhan Mert Gürkan and “Battery traceability and recycling” written by the group including Prof. Dr. Fırat Burat were presented at the symposium organized by the Automotive Technologies Platform. The book titled “Lithium Ion Batteries in Electric Vehicles” containing valuable information prepared by our professors has been published.

The Faculty of Mines was established in 1953 in Istanbul. At its first years, the faculty composed of mainly Turkish and German professors, and its program was similar to those days’ famous mining schools such as Aachen, Clausthal and Freiberg.

Today, the Faculty of Mines with five departments (Mining, Geological, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Geophysical, and Mineral Processing Engineering) and 13 sub-divisions is graduating young and proficient engineers to search, develop and produce underground sources of Turkey.
