The book series entitled "Advances in Geological Science" that reveal new developments in geophysics owing to the advances in geosciences, especially in data collection and data processing has taken its place in the world of science. Our faculty member Prof. Dr. Tuncay Taymaz from the Department of Geophysical Engineering are among the editors of the book series together with Prof. Dr. Junzo Kasahara from Tokyo and Shizuoka Universities and Prof. Dr. Michael Zhdanov from University of Utah.  

Prof.Dr. Tuncay Taymaz said the following about two books published within this year: “Studies in the twentieth century uncovered groundbreaking facts in geophysics and produced a radically new picture of the Earth’s history. However, in some respects it also created more puzzles for the research community of the twenty-first century to tackle. This book series aim to present the state of the art of contemporary geological studies and offer the opportunity to discuss major open problems in geosciences and their phenomena. The main focus is on understanding physical and geochemical properties affecting fault mechanics within the framework of earthquake prediction efforts, and high-pressure silicate and oxides in relation to the phase transition and thermodynamics. The monographs in the series, including multi-authored volumes, will examine prominent features of past events up to their current status, and possibly forecast some aspects of the foreseeable future employing prevailing modeling technologies nowadays including artificial intelligence. “Groundwater Radon in the Taiwan Subduction Zone - A Natural Strain-Meter for Earthquake Prediction”, the new book in the series  focuses on how to monitor anomalous declines in groundwater radon concentration to present a physical mechanism for radon anomalies.

“Advanced Methods of Joint Inversion and Fusion of Multiphysics Data” the new book in the series presents the most recent advances, trending topics, and novel methods of integrated interpretation of multiphysics data and helps lead the discovery and successful development of mineral deposits.
